In Hiding

from work that is.

Things have been SO crazy at work that it’s sucking up all my available time, including knitting/blogging/resting/being-happy time.

So I haven’t had time to blog. I have had a small teeny amount of time to knit. I am about 1/3 of the way done with Mike’s 2nd secret sock. It’s going pretty fast even though I’d rather be working on my cashmere-y brioche scarf. I’m about to start the heel and am forcing myself to be done with it soon!  Because then I can really work on my Brioche scarf.

I’ve made good progress on Bjerk. Imagine if you will, the front about 1/3 done. I’m not quite to the center patterning on the chest, but only a few more inches of stockinette to go for that.  I have checked the measurements and it’s coming out spot on perfect! Wooooohooo!  I also haven’t had to buy ANY needles for this project.

Who me, Impatient???!?!?

I’m still waiting for the Nanny Sweater yarn to arrive. I’m very frustrated with this. It’s coming from good ole England.  The tracking # I have says it has hit Los Angeles. That was at least 4 days ago (Saturday), yet it has NOT showed up in my mailbox yet.  There are no dates on the tracking.  It just said, "It’s in LA. It’s going through the system".  The vendor says it usually only takes a couple of business days to go from point A to point B.  So WHERE IS MY YARN?  I’m excited to get it because it’s a new yarn for me, and I hope it’s soft and wonderful to work with. I want to get started on it, as it’s a gift.  I’m also anxious because I spent more than $150 on this yarn and don’t want it to disappear into the void of mail hell.

Update as of 4:31 pm

Well, Murphy’s law, right? Here I am complaining about how slow my yarn is being. It was in my mail box today!  (2 weeks from the day I ordered it) Actually the key to the package box was in my mailbox, and I had a moment of disappointment before I saw the key. I did a happy dance.  I opened it immediately to properly fondle the yarn.   It is pretty soft. Not super-wear-against naked skin soft (although some might) but it didn’t feel scratchy to me. It felt "poofy".  And the color. Oh - to die for.  Pictures soon.
