Finished Secret Socks
December 23rd, 2004 at 1:13 pm (socks)
I think it’s hilarious that I keep calling these socks "secret socks". They really aren’t so secret. My husband sees me work on them. He’s tried on sock #1 to make sure it fits right. I guess the secret is that they are done one full day before Christmas! How’s that for happy holiday knitting?
The obligatory shot (on the christmas tree noless):
The colors in this picture are really fairly true. You can see the gradations of colors (like very subtle stripes) esp in the stockinette foot.
It has been very cold here lately (high today of 8 degrees. Yes, that’s Farenheit) so I think these will be much appreciated in Mike’s sock drawer. My own handknit socks are not nearly numerous enough so I think my next sock project will be one for me. I started a pair a while ago, that is only about 1" of the fancy ribbing in some gorgeous Bearfoot yarn. Soooo soft. They are practically demanding to be on my feet!
Merry Christmas (if you celebrate it) and Happy Holidays to everyone else. May the elves bring you lots of great knitting toys to play with. :)
