Thursday Spinning

This week we had spinning on thursday. I decided to not take my wheel as I wasn’t feeling up to hauling it into the car and into the mall. Shiori let me try out her charka (here she is demonstrating it for me) to spin cotton. It was really fun to spin on. I also had my drop spindles with me; and had little success getting comfortable with the lighter weight spindle I had brought, which turns out to be some sort of weird mid-whorl style that doesn’t really spin very well as a drop spindle, but I’m not sure how else to spin with it. Phooey.
There were quite a few of us that didn’t bring our wheels. Shane did, but ended up spending the majority of his time untangling yarn:
He didn’t even curse once. We were all encouraging him to - but apparently he has the patience of a saint. You can see Marie on the very far right with a drop spindle too.
I also brought my lace shawl to show off. Marie drapes it over her arms for me to take a picture of:
I need to get a picture of me wearing it, but haven’t managed to make the time.
